About
On November 2nd this year, I am running in the New York City Marathon. Not only is this my first ever marathon, but to run in my home of NYC is a dream come true.
I am running in memory of my beloved uncle, Dr. Phu Huu Le who passed away 15 years ago. He was an extraordinary powerhouse, who led his family to new beginnings after the Vietnam War. He was a kind father and passionate leader in his community. Despite his challenges, he always led with joy and warmth in every action. His trips with me and my siblings to Chuck E Cheese still stand as a favorite childhood memory.
To honor my uncle’s legacy of service and compassion, I am running to raise funds for the Samaritans, which operates NYC’s only anonymous and confidential suicide prevention hotline. The Samaritans work tirelessly to provide vital education and resources for those in crisis. Organizations like the Samaritans help break stigmas in mental health and enable others to find hope.
I am respectfully asking for any support you can provide. Whether it’s a donation, or simply checking in on someone you know who could be struggling.
Every mile I run will be for Phu and for those who need to know that they’re not alone. Every contribution for the Samaritans, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
